  • A Schenectady homeowner has raised doubts about nearly identical energy bills for two apartments — one occupied with daily use and one left vacant at 60 degrees. He contacted National Grid for help, and a spokesperson said that variations in unit heating may lead to unexpected charges.  CBS 6 Albany

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Scotia Glenville Board of Education voted 5 to 2 to close Glen Worden Elementary School tonight. Board officials said the decision minimizes transitions for staff and students — some parents questioned the timing and reasoning behind the closure.  WNYT
  • Union College trustee Brad Karp resigned on Monday after emails linked him to Jeffrey Epstein. The college said the 2014 exchanges did not show criminal activity but revealed that Karp had asked Epstein to help his son get a film job (involving legal talks).  CBS 6 Albany
