- ➤ Schenectady Police are investigating a stabbing on Lincoln Avenue from Friday evening—officials have little information to release as the investigation continues. CBS 6 Albany
- ➤ State Police warn that scammers are targeting elderly people by calling and sending emails to demand money and arrange pickups— police advise locals to never share personal details or respond to unknown messages. WNYT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Joe Yakel, a Niskayuna resident, started a petition on MoveOn.org urging the state to improve Route 7 following fatal crashes, including a death on Feb. 26 and the loss of Assemblyman Smullen’s son over a year ago. He called for traffic lights and safety measures at intersections—especially at Route 7 and Vrooman Avenue—to slow drivers and protect pedestrians—hoping Gov. Hochul’s staff acts soon. WNYT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ After battling COVID-19 and long COVID for 5 years, Maya McNulty says she is 90% healthy again and has returned to work in Schenectady. She now advocates at the Capitol for support for those with ongoing symptoms—pushing for funding programs such as a scholarship for children losing a parent—hoping lawmakers will act soon.
