ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ New York State's annual burn ban is in effect to lower wildfire risk as temperatures warm and vegetation dries. The ban, running through May 14, prohibits residential brush burning and allows only small fire pits with strict size limits, with violations facing fines. CBS 6 Albany
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State lawmakers introduced two bills on Monday, Mar. 16 to ban surveillance pricing, which uses consumer data (and algorithms) to set individualized prices. The proposals aim to ensure fair pricing for New Yorkers and protect jobs in grocery stores and pharmacies. CBS 6 Albany
