- ➤ A Schenectady man, 25-year-old Justin P. Wagner, was sentenced to 16 years in prison Tuesday for firing an illegal AR15 during a personal dispute that led to a January 4 shooting in Halfmoon—he pled guilty to felony first-degree assault and was arrested with the weapon in his work van. - ➤ Patrick Haggerty, 39, is accused of fatally stabbing his 79-year-old mother in a Rotterdam townhouse on Cobblestone Court on Sunday—he is set to appear in court on Thursday. WNYT
- ➤ A video shows police with guns drawn on Lincoln Avenue on Friday after a fatal stabbing in which Amanda Jaikaran, 38—a devoted mother of three—lost her life and led authorities to arrest her ex-boyfriend, Rance White, 52—charged with murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon—. WNYT
- ➤ A Schenectady man named Jaheim T. Gadsen Marble (37) was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and fourth-degree conspiracy after a stop on Northway. The Daily Gazette
- ➤ Omar Wynn, 32, from Schenectady was sentenced to 5 years in prison after admitting to selling 1,500 fentanyl pills — stamped M30 to resemble oxycodone — and 8.6 grams of cocaine while on probation for previous drug convictions. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ Almost Queen will perform at the Rivers Casino + Resort Schenectady event center on July 12. Pre-sale tickets for Rush Rewards members will be on sale March 20 at 10 a.m. plus general tickets will be available March 21 at 10 a.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m. CBS 6 Albany
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A new study shows that Schenectady parks generated $14.8 million in economic value and supported 18 full-time jobs—each dollar spent in the parks produced $1.47 in local activity. - ➤ The Schenectady County Food Council led a grassroots effort to support the state budget by asking for $75 million each for the Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program and Nourish New York while raising SNAP benefits to $100.
