- ➤ A Rotterdam man (39) was charged with second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his 79-year-old mother in the neck in a domestic incident; his court date on Friday at 5 p.m. in Rotterdam was canceled as his case is expected to move to Schenectady County Court. WNYT
- ➤ Joseph Goodnough was indicted on grand larceny charges by a Schenectady County grand jury for allegedly defrauding David White of his Cobleskill home when White signed deed transfer papers at a Stewart’s Shops on Broadway during a June 29 transaction — he faces a second charge linked to a July 28 incident that led to a canceled court appearance. - ➤ Police say that Rance White, 52, is accused of fatally stabbing Amanda Jaikaran, 38, on March 14 at her home on 818 Lincoln Ave—she was taken to Ellis Hospital where she died, and her sister was injured when she tried to intervene. WNYT

- ➤ On Friday evening, a protest rally gathered outside the Schenectady Social Security office as union leaders and Congressman Paul Tonko warned that staffing cutbacks have already reduced its workforce by over 25% and may prolong wait times for seniors—critics say the changes could overwhelm the system. The agency will reinstate a recovery plan starting March 27th that will withhold 100% of monthly benefits for overpaid beneficiaries, reversing the previous 10% cap. CBS 6 Albany
