  • The Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo supports Wildwood programs this weekend at the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College as a portion of each ticket sale funds local services. Visitors can also explore Wildwood’s new sensory room for a quiet space.  WNYT
  • Wildwood Programs employs over 700 direct support professionals who help people with developmental disabilities live more independent lives through housing, activities, & day-to-day support during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in the Capital Region.  CBS 6 Albany
  • The Regional Food Bank will distribute $1 million in state funds to 700 pantries, shelters and soup kitchens on April 1 to help ease food insecurity in the area. The move is part of a $65 million plan (secured last fall) to support hunger relief.  CBS 6 Albany

  • Duanesburg school leaders are working to rebuild trust after Superintendent Kimberly Ross’s remarks on student apathy sparked backlash at a recent board meeting, where she apologized and the district promised to change its media communications.  WNYT

  • New York State launched the 'Drop the Vape' campaign (a free text-based program for quitting vaping) to help youth reduce nicotine addiction. Digital ads and online resources support the effort through April 26.  CBS 6 Albany

  • Local business owners Sarah Lynn Prince and Christian Bidwell (of Dirt and Decor and Empire Water Gardens) met while collaborating at the Flower & Garden Expo and their design projects grew into love, with their Teal House greenhouse display featured at this weekend’s expo as part of their wedding story.  WNYT
