- ➤ The Schenectady Jewish Community Center will host its first Touch a Truck Fundraiser Event tomorrow, April 6 from 2 to 4 p.m., inviting residents to explore vehicles and enjoy indoor and outdoor activities. Proceeds will go toward the Mike Palahnuk Pavilion Project to honor the late facilities director—preorder tickets cost $8 each with free admission for children under 2. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ A Schenectady man was sentenced on Thursday to 20 years in prison for trying to kill his estranged wife by hitting her with his car on July 23rd—he is also set to serve five years of post-release supervision. WNYT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed three gun control bills on Thursday—banning pistol converters, requiring gun shops to post larger warnings, and changing credit card codes for gun sales—and lawmakers said the measures may help reduce gun violence. News10 ABC
