- ➤ Felipa Martinez-Garcia, a 49-year-old woman, died after being hit by a vehicle on Loudon Road near Troy-Schenectady Road around 5 a.m. today—police said bystanders attempted CPR before she was pronounced dead and the driver is cooperating with investigators. WNYT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Schenectady man was arrested in Lloyd on April 7 when state police stopped his 2024 Buick—finding over 800 grams of cocaine, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and $1,900 in cash—and he was arraigned in Town of Lloyd Court and placed in Ulster County Jail as the investigation continues. News10 ABC
- ➤ Schenectady police arrested Basean Brooks for allegedly abandoning and abusing a dog named Lavender near McClellan Street and Eastern Parkway while local businesses, including Crackling Embers Candle Co. + The Nest Restaurant and Bar, raised funds for her care at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and police are still searching for those responsible for her injuries.
