- ➤ A Utica man, Raheeb M. Al Ammari, age 27, was arrested on April 6 after a Rotterdam traffic stop on I-90 found more than 10 pounds of cannabis, over 4 pounds of concentrated products, and more than $20,000 in cash — he faces charges for drug and traffic laws and was released on his own recognizance at a Schenectady court. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Schenectady County launched its annual rabies vaccination program at a drive-through event — the first event of the year — to vaccinate dogs, cats, and ferrets. Residents can check the county website for appointment details. CBS 6 Albany
- ➤ Residents in Schenectady County will attend a free disaster preparedness class at the Hon. Karen B. Johnson Library on April 22 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.—the event by NYSDHSES will teach how to prepare for severe weather and other emergencies while offering each family a preparedness kit. CBS 6 Albany
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Blue Ridge Beef recalled more than 1,000 lbs of puppy and kitten food after tests found salmonella and listeria in products sold from January 3 to January 24—pet owners in New York and other affected states were urged to return or safely dispose of the food. News10 ABC
