- ➤ Schenectady Police responded at 7:19 p.m. Thursday on Northend Drive after receiving a report of an altercation—gunshots were later heard at a home where officers found an adult male with a fatal head wound and an adult female with a gunshot injury whose condition remains unknown. WNYT
- ➤ On April 12, a stabbing occurred on Guilderland Avenue and on April 16, Rotterdam police arrested Jason Melendez—a 40-year-old Schenectady resident and parolee—around 10 p.m. for second-degree assault, and he remains at the Schenectady County Correctional Facility with help from New York State Parole, Schenectady Police and the Capital Region Crime Analysis Center. - ➤ The New York State Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Thursday in a lawsuit by former St. Clare's employees who say they were denied promised pensions—paving the way for a trial against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany.
