  • ➤ A Sunday evening grease fire on Hamburg Street in Rotterdam injured 23-year-old certified nursing assistant Ajunae Hicks, who had to escape the flames to reach the front door and was taken to Westchester’s burn center for treatment.  CBS 6 Albany

CULTURE NEWS

  • ➤ The Empire State Youth Orchestra is kicking off its spring season with a performance at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m. where award-winning tuba soloist Ben Posner will lead musical works — further concerts are planned in Saratoga and Schenectady.  CBS 6 Albany

EDUCATION NEWS

  • ➤ Middle school students toured local factories and designed marketing plans during the Capital Region's second annual What's So Cool About Manufacturing awards held Wednesday night at Proctors Theatre (the program introduces them to real manufacturing careers).  CBS 6 Albany
