- ➤ With horse racing season coming, the New York Racing Association and Stewart’s Shops have partnered to sell NYRA Bets Gift Cards at over 175 locations— including Schenectady— in the Capital Region. Each $50 card can be used for the Saratoga races and Triple Crown events until the end of August and must be purchased in cash. News10 ABC

- ➤ Police in Schenectady are searching for a suspect in the murder of a man found dead with gunshot wounds on Hamburg Street last Thursday - officials ask anyone with information to call 518-382-5245 or 518-788-6566. WNYT
- ➤ Anthony Sindoni, 37, of Schenectady pleaded guilty Friday in Federal court to gun and drug possession charges after admitting he had three guns and sizable amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin for drug trafficking; he now faces up to life in prison, a $10 million fine, and a probation term. - ➤ Margaret Schadler, a respected biology professor and former associate dean at Union, died April 18 at 93 in Niskayuna—she championed academic initiatives and community causes throughout her long career. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. May 3 at the First Reformed Church in Schenectady. Union College

- ➤ Volunteers in Alplaus picked up trash around the community over the weekend for Earth Day— the local firehouse provided garbage bags and reflective vests. The cleanup supports the call to unite around renewable energy under this year's theme Our Power, Our Planet. WNYT
