ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ NY State Senator Pete Harckham and Assemblymember Dr. Anna Kelles, along with environmental advocates and farmers, called for a ban on using toxic biosolids on farmland to protect water, soil, and public health. The proposed legislation would impose a five-year moratorium and require testing of soil and groundwater — similar to bans already in place in Maine and Connecticut. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ This fall, Schenectady will open a new arena at Mohawk Harbor with a public overlook that offers visitors a sweeping view of the Mohawk River — the enhancement is part of the city's development plans. The Daily Gazette
