  • CBS6 anchor Liz Bishop, who spent over 50 years on air since starting in 1973, retired yesterday. CBS6 will air a tribute on May 30 — it will show highlights of her impactful career.  CBS 6 Albany
  • The inaugural PINKleball tournament at Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon raised over $10,000 for breast cancer research and treatment as part of the American Cancer Society's local Men Wear Pink campaign + more than twenty teams competed in the event hosted by NewsChannel 13 and Camelot Print & Copy Centers in Latham.  WNYT

  • Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady and Rush Street Gaming have launched a student debt relief program for full-time employees that offers up to $1,000 a year toward student loans—over 100 team members enrolled within a week—and includes a scholarship program plus up to $5,000 in tuition assistance for eligible staff.  CBS 6 Albany

CRIME NEWS

  • Samantha Humphrey's ex-boyfriend, now 17, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for her death in 2022 after a thorough investigation used video evidence, GPS tracking, and cell phone records - the District Attorney will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon as the case moves forward while his name remains confidential.  WNYT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Kathy Hochul announced that checks up to $400 will be mailed to 8.2 million households this fall as part of the fiscal year 2026 State Budget + no application is needed. The refunds will be sent by mail starting in October and continue through November + households will receive the money automatically.  CBS 6 Albany
