- ➤ NOVUS’ annual volleyball tournament, the CAT, returns this summer with sign-ups open to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and Project 1:12—a foundation started by a local apparel company. The event raised over $40,000 last year—showing strong community support. WNYT
- ➤ Hoffman's Car Wash is hosting an event this weekend—residents can get a free car wash when they drop off a non-perishable food item to support 21 local food pantries. The program runs at 29 locations from Queensbury to Kingston and has been held twice a year for 14 years. CBS 6 Albany
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Russell Sage College hosted its nurse pinning ceremony on Friday, where 80 new nurses in its 103rd graduating class were recognized as they moved into their careers. Nursing program chair Glenda Kelman said many graduates plan to work in the Capital Region—aiming to ease the nursing shortage in underserved areas. News10 ABC
- ➤ SUNY campuses are set to start Governor Kathy Hochul’s free community college program in Fall to cover tuition, fees, books & supplies for New Yorkers aged 25 to 55 without a college degree.
