- ➤ Voters in many Capital Region school districts approved budgets, tax increases and bus purchase plans while electing board members. In Schenectady County, the city schools passed their budget with 681 yes votes and 113 no votes — board members Cathy Lewis and Vivan Parson were re-elected. CBS 6 Albany
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ CDC preliminary figures showed that overdose deaths in New York dropped 32% from 2023 to 2024—falling from 6,688 to 4,567 cases—with opioids involved in 77% of these fatalities. State programs to expand addiction treatment and provide free naloxone are credited with the decrease. News10 ABC
