- ➤ The Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men—Zhexxun Sun, age 22, and Zhigang Wei, age 52—for third degree grand larceny and sixth degree conspiracy after a scam targeting a 90-year-old resident led to fraudulent refund claims and cash pickups from the victim’s neighbor’s driveway. - ➤ Two individuals, 22-year-old Zhexxun Sun and 52-year-old Zhigang Wei, were arrested for scamming a 90-year-old man with a fake PayPal refund email that made him give up $14,000 and led to further attempts to collect the balance—after fleeing to Canada, both were arraigned and released on their own recognizance while facing charges of grand larceny 3rd and conspiracy 6th. - ➤ Troy police arrested Ramon Cruz, a Schenectady resident, for a shooting on Glen Avenue on May 4 that hurt a 16-year-old; they searched Schenectady on May 22, found three guns and extra magazines, and Cruz now faces charges for attempted murder, gun possession, and assault. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ Museum officials said a federal grant of over $480,000 for the Rosanna Vosburgh Center for Education at Ten Broeck Mansion was revoked because the museum did not meet government requirements + local lawmakers warned that the funding cut threatens free children programs and the museum plans to continue its fundraising efforts after raising 90 percent of the needed funds.
