  • Authorities in Rotterdam investigated a fatal train accident that occurred early Monday when a man was struck on Putnam Road at 2:13 a.m. and are asking anyone with details to help identify the 20-year-old white male who wore a black Las Vegas Raiders hoodie, camouflage pants and black New Balance sneakers.  CBS 6 Albany

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady is offering a free table game dealer academy to recruit 12 new dealers. The academy starts June 30 and runs Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for six weeks at the casino’s training center at 1473 Erie Boulevard—applicants must be at least 21, work all shifts, and pass a live dealing audition to earn a state gaming license for part- or full-time positions with competitive pay and benefits.  News10 ABC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Proctors Theatre in Schenectady will receive $968,000 in funding from the state budget under the Alive Downtowns initiative, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara said. The money will help the historic venue recover from COVID-19 closures and continue its programming to support local jobs and downtown vibrancy — an investment in the city's future.  News10 ABC

  • John and Debbie Kempf lost their daughter Carly in February at age 22 as she battled an eating disorder, depression, and the effects of bullying, and they criticized mental health care gaps on a CBS6 special.
