- ➤ A Schenectady woman identified as 34-year-old Monica Mahabeer was arrested and charged with identity theft and grand larceny in Clifton Park following an investigation into a December 27, 2024 complaint on Weston Drive—she was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and is held in Schenectady County Jail. - ➤ Felipe Ermolenko, a 23-year-old from Schenectady, pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a September 2, 2022 shooting in Albany that injured a woman—he will be sentenced on August 19 and could face up to seven years in prison. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ After a failed budget attempt, the Scotia Glenville school board adopted a new plan that will save over $614,000 and avoid a contingency plan demanding $1.7 million in cuts—superintendent Susan Swartz said salary reductions for two reading teachers and a librarian will help meet that goal while keeping job cuts off and taxes rising 1.62%.
