  • A local motorcycle club held a memorial ride on May 28 in honor of Eddie Jordan from Halfmoon - the event featured a route from Clifton Park to Saratoga Springs while raising funds for the Shatekon Elementary School backpack program for local families.  WNYT

CULTURE NEWS

  • CBS6 earned four Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2026 for excellence in broadcast and digital journalism, with winners advancing to the national competition later (the awards honor impactful storytelling and investigative reporting in the Capital Region).  CBS 6 Albany

HEALTH NEWS

  • On June 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the American Red Cross and Stewart’s Shops will hold their annual 'Give a Pint, Get a Pint' blood drive at 2 Wellness Way in Latham. Donors will receive a voucher for a free pint of ice cream (11th year) to help boost summer donations.  WNYT
  • Today, the American Red Cross seeks blood and platelet donations in the Capital Region as summer trauma nears; donors get a beach towel if donating by May 31 and a $15 e-gift card (plus a chance at a $7500 gift card) for donations from June 1 to 28.  CBS 6 Albany
