- ➤ Farms across the Capital Region are offering you-pick programs for fruits like strawberries, cherries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries as summer nears. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ State trooper Justin T. Mitchell, 27, was hurt last Friday on I-90 in Rotterdam when a tractor-trailer drifted onto the shoulder and hit his patrol vehicle during a traffic stop plus police named a trooper accused of causing the crash and Mitchell was treated at Albany Medical Center and released while the minivan driver and a Belmont passenger, along with the tractor-trailer driver, received medical evaluation for minor injuries. - ➤ Daley's on Yates, a popular Schenectady restaurant, announced on Facebook that it will close after service next Sunday night after seven years in business—its owners plan special closing events for guests. The Daley Hospitality Group will continue operating other ventures and has listed the space for sale at just over $1.6 million. WNYT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Schenectady contractor, Charles Ferrara (52), on June 7 after he allegedly cashed a check for $1,045 (for work not done) at a Clifton Park home, and he will appear at Town Court later. News10 ABC
- ➤ Chad Nichols, a 48-year-old contractor from Ballston Spa, was headed to state prison for allegedly defrauding a homeowner of over $84,000 and for bail jumping—he accepted his original sentence on Monday and now faces additional charges for criminal impersonation and scams in Saratoga County while ordered to pay $84,000 in restitution.
