CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Schenectady man, Adam Fazzone (31), was indicted on two burglary counts after allegedly forcing entry into a home on Bohner Avenue and attacking a man at another residence on Kellogg Avenue in Colonie; he injured himself during his arrest, received treatment at Albany Medical Center, and faces up to 30 years in prison. - ➤ Schenectady police found a dead body at 760 Albany Street Tuesday morning+ they are investigating the case with an autopsy and toxicology report scheduled to determine further details. News10 ABC
- ➤ Schenectady man Tavio T. Fredericks, 47, was arrested Tuesday at 9:34 p.m. after fleeing officers on foot during a traffic stop at Central Avenue and Rawson Street where they found him with a loaded .22 revolver and drugs including 97 grams of cocaine plus fentanyl intended for distribution—he faces multiple felony charges and will be arraigned on June 18 in Albany City Criminal Court. - ➤ The Sci-Fi Schenectady Film Fest starts Friday and will show sci-fi movies — interactive exhibits and themed parties encourage costumes. Creative director Richard Lovrich and film commissioner Donna Pennell said the event will spark local interest in science fiction. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ A judge ruled on June 18 that St. Clare’s Corporation must pay up to $35 million in legal debt to former hospital workers who lost part of their pensions in 2018—following a 2019 lawsuit by the AARP Foundation. The case will go to trial at a later date. News10 ABC
- ➤ New York lawmakers passed the FAIR Business Practices Act to crack down on unfair and abusive business practices—this law updates a 45-year-old rule to let the attorney general sue companies that harm consumers and small businesses. Governor Hochul may sign the bill soon so New York joins other states with similar protections. News10 ABC
