- ➤ Four Schenectady parks will host a free six-week summer youth program starting Monday as city students lead kids in sports and activities — the city hopes the program will offer a safe, fun way to enjoy summer recreation — and will review its impact after the session ends. The Daily Gazette
- ➤ The Glenville Police Department is preparing for its annual Fill-A-Backpack drive even though the school year just ended. Donations of markers, notebooks, pencils, crayons and other supplies can be dropped off at Glenville Town Hall — Wolf Hollow Brewing Company, and the department has already received over 70 backpacks from local donors. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters battled two house fires early this morning on Avenue A and Van Velson St — one incident involved a car crashing into a home that caught fire and a rescued cat was reported, while the other left 12 people displaced and one injured taken to an emergency room, and investigations are ongoing.
