The Gift of Caring program let customers buy cookies (with groups like St. Luke’s Food Pantry, Schenectady City Mission benefiting) and Operation Adopt a Soldier shipped 5,000 boxes to military members overseas. - ➤ Leonardo Guzman, a 35-year-old from Schenectady, pleaded guilty before Judge Roger McDonough on Monday in connection with the January 30 shooting death of 30-year-old DeWitt Miller on Central Avenue in Albany—he will face a 20-year state prison term with five years of supervision and a sentencing hearing set for September 12. - ➤ Police are searching for 89-year-old Alphonso Hilton, a vulnerable man (5’11”, 173 lbs, missing one eye and with hearing and mobility issues) who was last seen on Manchester Road just after 8:35 a.m. on Monday wearing a black ballcap, navy blue jacket, dark jeans, and black shoes (he may have boarded an eastbound CDTA bus near State Street).
