- ➤ On July 4th, a large house fire on Avenue A forced Schenectady officers to evacuate residents and led Sergeant Stevens to drag a disoriented man from the flames to safety—his quick response likely prevented serious injuries. CBS 6 Albany
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Mallozzi Family has been named the food and drink provider at M&T Bank Center alongside Victory Concessions and will cater all events at the venue—serving food during hockey games, concerts and conferences starting with the September 6 event featuring country singer Lee Brice. The family, which runs Villa Italia, Johnny’s Restaurant and operates food services at Rivers Casino, will use its team of employees to bring quality service to the new venture. News10 ABC
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Michael Taylor, a Schenectady resident, pleaded guilty to second-degree rape of a 14-year-old girl and was sentenced to six years in state prison plus ten years of post-release supervision — the court also issued a 23-year protection order for the victim and her mother and he must register as a sex offender.
