- ➤ Sycamore Collaborative’s summer meal program is expecting to serve 10,000 meals by August 29—up from 6,500 last year—with volunteers and the school district helping to serve hot meals kids recognize from school. - ➤ Electric City Comic Con returned to Schenectady as a free, family-friendly event hosted by the Schenectady County Public Library that marked its 10th anniversary with panels, a cosplay contest, and artists from Los Angeles—coinciding with Superman returning to theaters. CBS 6 Albany
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Planet Smilez, a nonprofit that introduces middle and high school students from rural areas to careers in dentistry, hosted an event yesterday at Mohanassen’s Center for Advanced Technology in Rotterdam where students practiced dental procedures and experienced wearing a white coat (funded by Delta Dental and sponsored by the New York State Dental Foundation).
