  • Today, Lt. Col. Klein takes command of the Army Battalion Recruiting office in Albany after Lt. Col. Merchant—who led the recruiting effort that reached 61,000 new recruits four months ahead of schedule—is headed to Arizona. Klein, originally from Illinois with ties to West Point and Connecticut, said he is ready to continue the recruiting success in the eastern region.  CBS 6 Albany
  • State Senator Jim Tedisco called the animal abuse case at A Time Four Paws in Halfmoon shocking—he is urging tougher penalties—after rescue workers removed dozens of animals following the arrest of owner Yvette Giovanni when a French bulldog died from heat.  WNYT
