- ➤ The fourth annual cornhole tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will take place Sunday, July 20 at 12 p.m. at Wolf Hollow Brewing and will raise money and awareness for neuromuscular disease research — organizer Stephen Gilbert said his family’s experience with the disease drives his efforts. - ➤ After being rescued from severe abuse in Schenectady, Lavender is healing and playing in her foster home at Mohawk Humane Society—police are still investigating the case while the society also rescues more animals from neglect in Westerlo. CBS 6 Albany
- ➤ A man admitted in a Schenectady court to murdering his ex-wife in 2023 and he now faces a 22-life sentence. The Daily Gazette

- ➤ The Schenectady Fire Department announced that Assistant Chief David Massaro is retiring after 25 years of service, with his final day scheduled for July 31. Mayor Gary McCarthy will interview candidates to replace him—Massaro said a decision will be made soon. News10 ABC
