Good morning, Schenectady.

The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society stated that Lavender, a female pit bull found in a Schenectady home with her ear intentionally cut off and severely underweight in March, is healing—her wounds are closing and her coat is growing in as she plays outside.

Local businesses helped raise funds for her care, and the shelter said she is now a thriving and joyful soul.

Schenectady Police said a serious car crash happened around Ardsley and Union Streets Thursday night—two people were taken to a local hospital.

Schenectady government has set a weight limit on Kings Road to reduce heavy traffic — commercial trucks over eight tons are now banned from Albany Street to the city line.

Ben Vandor operates his gluten-free ice cream truck in Colonie, making scratch-made flavors like vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut-truffle, and mango-lassi using quality ingredients.

The truck also features a banana-split made with a freshly pressed gluten-free waffle cone and inventive toppings like sticky-cherry sauce.
