  • A tense standoff in Cohoes ended on August 7th when suspect Eli Cid Jr. took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, as confirmed by Dr. Bernard Ng at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady—showing he sustained no other gunfire wounds.  CBS 6 Albany
  • Ashley Vazquez, 34, from Niskayuna was arrested on Wednesday for bail jumping after missing her court appearance for a grand larceny charge & was arraigned in Wilton Town Court before being released to pretrial services.  CBS 6 Albany

  • Governor Hochul condemned the federal decision to cut $87 million from New York's counterterrorism and public safety programs after a recent mass shooting and urged Congress and the White House to restore the funds needed to protect New Yorkers—she warned that the funding cut leaves law enforcement short on resources.  CBS 6 Albany
