- ➤ Capital Region families and community supporters will attend the 4th annual Reverse Rett Upstate New York Fall Festival on Sept. 20 at the Speigletown Firehouse on Route 40 in Troy+ the event will feature live music, food trucks, raffles, auctions and kid-friendly activities to raise funds for Rett Syndrome research. - ➤ A Schenectady man was attacked in his home at 1764 State St when two men entered around 6:40 a.m.—they struck him on the head, tied his hands, and stole his vehicle, and he was treated on scene and taken to a local hospital for non‑life‑threatening injuries while police continue their investigation with no arrests made. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara introduced a bill that gives the Legislature a 60-day period to review and possibly reverse National Grid’s approved rate hike, which could add about $600 to a household’s energy bill. The Utility Rate Hike Legislative Review Act would require the Public Service Commission to notify the Governor and legislative leaders within 24 hours—ensuring lawmakers can step in before changes take effect.
