- ➤ Last Friday morning, over a hundred riders began a 100-mile journey from the Impact Athletic Center in Halfmoon to honor missing children and stress child safety — many stopped at schools and wore photos of those still missing. Funds raised will help the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children keep free school programs in our region. WNYT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Don Leopold from SUNY explained that the fall color season may be less vibrant if the dry weather persists and some trees lose much of their foliage early. He said that if light rain comes soon, it could boost the colors — offering a brief window for brighter fall hues. CBS 6 Albany
- ➤ DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton urged New Yorkers to take extra care with outdoor burning amid warm, dry conditions—she stressed that all fires must be fully doused to stop hidden embers from sparking wildfires. - ➤ The New York State DEC is finalizing its ten-year Wildlife Action Plan—excluding wolves from the priority species list—prompting conservation advocates to push for more data collection and protection. Public comments on the plan will be accepted until today. CBS 6 Albany
