- ➤ Schenectady veteran Michele Johnson—a dedicated U.S. Army veteran and mental health advocate—will be honored with the Veteran Service Award from SUNY Empire State University, with the ceremony to be held in the near future. The Daily Gazette

- ➤ A replica of the historic Seneca Chief boat will visit Schenectady on Oct. 14 as part of the Erie Canal Bicentennial celebration—marking the canal's 200th anniversary of its first voyage. The Daily Gazette
- ➤ Baye & Asa, an award-winning New York City dance team, will visit Union College on October 29 to lead a combined dance and theatre class and offer a free film screening with discussion, then teach additional classes and hold a dialogue with Miranda Fellows at Skidmore on October 30. The residency is a joint effort by Union’s Department of Theatre and Dance and Skidmore’s Dance Department to bring innovative movement art to the Capital Region. Union College

- ➤ Dozens gathered at the Capitol on Wednesday to urge Governor Hochul to sign the Medical Aid in Dying Act that passed in June and must be decided by December 31.
