- ➤ October is Disability Employment Awareness Month and New York State Industries for the Disabled is marking 50 years with its 2025 Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation Wednesday night. Leaders said that people with disabilities show strong problem-solving skills and noted that more than 6,000 individuals were employed on state contracts in the last year — underlining the value of an inclusive workforce. - ➤ Arthur’s Market in the Stockade Historic District—open since 1795—now operates as a coffee shop offering breakfast favorites, local goods, and a dog walk-up window. The market was revitalized in 2021 and uses local products, serving customers daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CBS 6 Albany

- ➤ Today the Walking School Bus picks up about 60 students at 7:15 a.m. to bring them to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Schenectady—parent liaison Christine Ewert leads the walk while school security head Kissair Savage manages the front. The program helps students who live too near bus pickup stops reach school safely. WNYT

- ➤ St. Peter’s Health Partners and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center announced on Tuesday a new partnership to expand cancer care in the Capital Region—this agreement will let patients at St. Peter’s centers in Albany and Troy get advanced treatments and telemedicine services from Roswell Park in Buffalo.
