Good morning, Schenectady.
🏘️ Community
Ellms Christmas Tree Farm in Charlton marks 35 years as it opens for the holiday season and will welcome thousands of visitors seeking their perfect Christmas tree — the family farm has grown from a small yard work project to 500 acres that have produced around 90,000 trees over the years.
On Thanksgiving morning, Capital Region residents joined turkey trots and races to support local aid programs; the 24th annual Saratoga 5K (8:30 a.m. at City Hall) raised funds for children in need, and Troy’s Turkey Trot registration (6:30 a.m. at the Atrium) along with Schenectady's 44th annual Cardiac Classic benefited local food banks and shelters.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Kathy Hochul distributed Thanksgiving meals to community members at Schenectady City Mission Thursday—she also volunteered in Albany.
