  • Twelve local nonprofits received a boost after Mohawk Honda donated $60,000 during its 12 Days of Giving, announced Monday in Glenville, with funds aimed at expanding charitable work (including the Nash Weston Onorato Memorial Foundation and Reading Is Fun Program).  WNYT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Latham Group, which runs a factory in Glenville, named Sean Gadd its new chief executive to take over from Scott Rajeski. The firm, a major designer, manufacturer, and marketer of in-ground residential pools across continents, will continue its regular operations.  The Daily Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Schenectady honored women's rights pioneer Jane Osterhout by naming today Ethel Jane Osterhout Day. The proclamation was issued by the Mayor and presented by the Schenectady Business and Professional Women's Club.  CBS 6 Albany

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Supreme Court announced it may ease strict school vaccine requirements and reopen the case against Amish schools fined for ignoring them, a move that may restore religious exemptions removed after a 2019 measles outbreak.  CBS 6 Albany

HEALTH NEWS

  • A report by Comptroller Tom DiNapoli shows that 16 rural counties, including some in the Capital Region, have far fewer doctors than state guidelines recommend. The report finds that primary care, pediatric and women’s health doctors are scarce—with shortages also affecting dentists and mental health workers.  CBS 6 Albany
