  • Mont Pleasant Middle School announced on Wednesday that Octavious Cook will serve as the new assistant principal, signaling a change in leadership for the school community.  The Daily Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Closing arguments took place yesterday as former St. Clare’s employees sought to regain pensions lost after the fund collapsed in 2018; nearly 1,100 claimants, backed by the Attorney General’s Office and AARP Foundation, await the jury’s deliberation today in Schenectady.  WNYT
  • New York’s first-in-the-nation law requires manufacturers to list all ingredients on packages for baby and adult diapers and takes effect today, Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal said. The rule will fine companies up to $1,000 per package for noncompliance and help parents choose safer products.  CBS 6 Albany
  • Sen. Gillibrand introduced bipartisan legislation today to boost family farms and agritourism by expanding federal programs like loans and broadband access (a measure aimed at supporting New York's farming communities). The bill seeks to ease rising costs for local family farms.  CBS 6 Albany

  • High school hockey games were canceled in Section 2 due to an unresolved referee dispute that led to a four-hour meeting with no agreement; Section 3 officials (covering tomorrow’s games) will step in as negotiations continue so athletes can resume play.  WNYT
