About this event

Level: All. Temperature: 85-90 degrees. Hot Release Yin Yoga is a slower paced class using poses that are seated or lying down with a room temperature of 90 degrees. The postures are held three to five minutes using props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks to support students as they move into tight, restricted areas in the body. Yin poses target the spine, hips, shoulders and legs by applying moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints, improving flexibility, aiding in digestion and nourishing the nervous system. A perfect class for those new to yoga and students with established practices looking to relax, stretch and renew. "Do you know what happens to the body in a Yin practice? After just 180 seconds of holding a shape —supported with a bolster, blankets and blocks—the exterior superficial muscles quiet down allowing the flow of blood and fluids to reach the deeper scaffolding of the body where facia, tendons, ligaments, joints and organs reside . The body begins to heal on a cellular level making this inner network more supple, pliable and durable. This is a profoundly healing practice when done on a regular schedule and is a great way to start yoga, return to practicing or recovering from an injury."
