The Universality of Katrina Trask

About this event

On Thursday, November 5, 2026, step into the world of Katrina Trask , one of Saratoga Springs’ most visionary figures, in this intimate and thought-provoking staged conversation presented by the Saratoga Springs History Museum .

Best known as the founder of the Yaddo Artist Residency , which began welcoming artists 100 years ago in 1926, Katrina Trask’s influence extended far beyond the arts. A poet, philanthropist, spiritual thinker, and civic leader, Mrs. Trask dedicated her life to nurturing creativity, social good, and the cultural future of Saratoga Springs .

This performance marks the final installment in a beloved series of staged conversations with the “Lady of Yaddo,” offering audiences a reflective and richly human portrait of Trask’s ideals, passions, and enduring hopes for her community. Through dialogue and storytelling, her wide-ranging projects, personal convictions, and forward-thinking vision are brought vividly to life.

Portrayed by Lezlie Dana as Katrina Trask, with Rumara Jewett appearing as a close friend and conversational companion, this evening blends history and performance into an engaging, accessible experience. Whether you are a longtime admirer of Yaddo, a lover of Saratoga history, or simply curious about the woman behind one of America’s most important artist communities, this program offers a meaningful and memorable encounter.
